OSU Symphony Orchestra

Orchestral Conducting at OSU

The master’s program in orchestral conducting at Oklahoma State University prepares young conductors to analyze and interpret musical scores, use appropriate rehearsal techniques with various types of orchestras, and communicate musical interpretation through appropriate conducting gestures.  In addition to taking courses in orchestral conducting, literature, performance, and pedagogy, the student will serve as the assistant conductor of the OSU Symphony, Youth, & Community Orchestras.  Recent alumni have won international conducting competitions, hold positions with professional orchestras, and have been accepted to prestigious doctoral conducting programs.
